On the door step of Chesterfield is the beautiful Peak District perfect for those who love to get some fresh air outside in the British countryside. You can walk your dog, cycle, run, join a local walking club or even venture to one of the four visitor centres to sample some local products.
Chesterfield Market dates back to 1165 and continues to attract visitors from far and wide. The traditional market provides a mixture of stalls selling a variety of local food, fashion, homeware and gifts – you will be spoilt for choice. The market operates three days a week on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays.

The family run Bottle & Thyme is a favourite on the Chesterfield dining scene serving up seasonal, organic and fresh produce all year round. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week and is perfect for catching up with friends on a Saturday morning with a fresh coffee and a delicious plate of brunch – make sure you try the Smashed Avo.
The family run restaurant, Lombardis opened its doors in 2002. Originally from Campania, the Lombardi family brought a little slice of Italy to Chesterfield offering traditional favourites such as risotto di mare, lasagne al forno and pollo diavola. The rustic restaurant has an extensive list of Italian wines and beers which can be enjoyed before enjoying an evening at Chesterfield Theatre, only a six minute walk away.

Learn about a number of historic periods at Chesterfield Museum from the beginning of the Romans to the expansion of the Industrial Revolution. Step back in time with their exhibitions and events such as; ‘Life as a Coal Miner’, ‘November Valuation Day’, ‘Meet George Stephenson’ and so much more.
With its highly regarded reputation and incredible views over Derbyshire, Bolsover Castle injects a piece of British heritage into Chesterfield.
