Santa’s Grotto

- Where: Chesterfield Assembly Rooms (above Market Hall)
- What: Visit Santa in his cosy grotto in the heart of the town centre.
Heritage Christmas Experiences
- Historic venues like the Crooked Spire Church will host a Festival of Christmas Trees and a new immersive light and sound display.
- Hardwick Hall: Join their Wintertide celebrations with storytelling, wreath-making, and late-night, candlelit openings.
- Bolsover Castle: Look out for the Lantern Parade, a long-running community event of handmade lanterns.
- Chatsworth House: The theme for 2025 is “The Enchanted Garden,” transforming its grounds into a magical nature-inspired winter world.
Santa & The Grinch Parade

Crackers for Christmas Weekend
- When: Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 November 2025
- What: A festive weekend to launch Christmas in the city, including street performances, children’s entertainment, live music, and craft activities.
Sheffield Christmas Markets
- When: From 13 November 2025 to 2 January 2026
- Where: Across Fargate, Pinstone Street, The Moor, and more.
- What: Over 50 cabins, local traders, festive food and drink (Alpine bars, churros, German sausages, and more).
Light Up Sheffield
- When: 5th – 14th December 2025
- Where: Sheffield City Centre
- What: Sheffield’s Cathedral, Central Library and Pounds Park will be illuminated with breathtaking projections created with local artists, celebrating the city’s heritage and creativity. Visitors can enjoy Pete McKee and Peachzz’s large-scale artworks brought to life, along with a special McKee exhibition and over 40 festive Christmas trees inside the Cathedral.
