We’re pleased to welcome Derek Mapp to Woodall Homes as our Non-Executive Chair. He will work alongside our Founder and Managing Director, Dave Wood, to deliver rapid expansion plans in the local area and beyond.
Derek’s appointment formed part of a £4.25 million investment from BGF, the UK’s most active growth capital investor. Funding is being used to support the accelerated acquisition of land in prime locations, to underpin long term growth, and to increase development activity and building output over the coming years.
A previous winner of the Quoted Companies Non-Executive Director of the Year award in 2017 for his work as Chairman at Huntsworth PLC, Derek’s career has mainly been focused on ownership, managerial, operational and commercial roles within the service industry.
Derek commented: “The values of Woodall Homes very much align with my own, so it has been fantastic getting to know Dave and Claire Wood over the last few months.
“I will be using my role to focus on the corporatisation of the business for Woodall Homes to deliver more high-quality homes in the Midlands and North of England.”
Dave added: “This year, we marked our 10th anniversary of the company, so it has been the perfect opportunity to look ahead to the next stage of our growth.
“Derek’s appointment, along with the BGF’s investment, will allow us to accelerate our land bank and development activity to meet the immediate and longer-term demand for quality housing on attractive developments.”
Our latest development in Clay Cross launched earlier this month, comprising 34 new three and four-bedroom houses and three-bedroom bungalows. There are nine different house styles available, each carefully designed to provide high-quality space.
The Orchards is ideally placed to benefit from the exciting £24m regeneration scheme, which will see the redevelopment of Clay Cross town centre, whilst also being a short drive from the Peak District National Park.
